I've been playing poker for over 25 years and have played in events ranging from home games to tournaments on the Professional Poker Tour. I love the game and have been writing about it for over 6 years. I try to write from a different point of view often taking a philosophical bent. I also frequently make analogies between poker and other disciplines to drive home certain points. My first book Tournament Poker and The Art of War is a prime example of that. I write a regular column for Card Player magazine.

My latest book is not a poker book at all although I think it will help poker players more than any other book I've written. It is called Compete, Play, Win: Finding Your Best Competitive Self. It is a narrative/prescriptive guide to channeling your innate competitive drive for maximum success. As anyone who has ever played poker knows, that instinct if not properly tempered, can lead to tilt -- both on the felt and in other aspects of our lives.
