Play a hand with Oreo Part 3-turn/river

EatingAnOreo Topics: 132 Posts: 469 Moderator	Created about 1 month ago Part 2 is Here The turn is a 7 and considering I gave up control of the hand with my call on the flop I just check and he checks behind. The river brings a 3 and I check again and he tosses in a chip (he is in the 1 seat and I'm in the 8 with the dealer between us). I ask the dealer how much the bet is and he says 500. Call or Fold?....or raise...

He has a strong hand and wants to make sure he gets paid off, so he's betting small to make it easy for you to call, he doesn't want to scare you off 2. He's concerned that his hand may not be any good, but doesn't want to give up either. He makes a small bet to try and block you from pushing him out of the pot. The problem is that I don't think if we raise/shove we get called by a hand worse than ours, and given the pot size and his smallish bet we should call. ______________________

The first one is pretty much my thought the problem is the chip he tossed in was actually a 1000 not a 500 which i found out AFTER i called. The 500 were orange and 1000 were peach (or the other way around) and the looked VERY similar. Your second point doesn't work cause I had already checked.

Now it comes down to this: 1. if you lose the hand, does your opponent complain that you owe him 500 more and you complain that the dealer told you it was only 500? 2. if you win the hand, does your opponent try to get out of paying you the 500 you didn't put in? And do you complain that by calling you agreed to pay whatever he bet oy vey what a mess! p.s. I freaking hate when they have consecutive denominations that are so close in color. Just asking for trouble. ______________________

I had this problem in a big way playing at the Canada Cup so I verbally declared all my bets. Good thing too as I accidentally threw in too much of a bet one time. Kash

Som one on the other side of the table is the one that mentioned it was actually 1000 and the opponent didn't say anything so I kept my mouth shut.
