Split my buyin with a friend and played yesterdays $600 Deepstack at Foxwoods. Phenomenal structure, start with 20K chips and 50 min levels.
At the 200/400 level with a 50 ante an EP player raises to 2K. Some dork with 10K shoves all-in with pocket 2's. I find Aces in the blinds and reshove for my 15K.
The f'ing door card is a 2, and he manages to two-outer me not once, but twice, because he rivers quads for this massive pot that leaves me shortstacked.
He then proceeds to chirp for the next 10 f'ing minutes because he's so excited.
I manage to hang on with my short stack for another two hours. At the 400/800 level (100 ante) and a new table, folded to me in the CO and I have pocket 9's and 8K in chips, instashove. I get insta-called by the button who has pocket 8's. But then the BB wakes up with QQ and that's it for me, busted halfway through the 500 player field.
So sick how unlucky I am in these things. The last time I played one of these $600 events I lost a massive pot early against another fish.
Four-way action with a 3K pot and a board of 89TJ with two hearts and two spades. I have KQ for the nuts and bet the pot. This fish that called my preflop raise with 67 of hearts raises all-in for only 4200 more on top. He has the idiot end of the straight on a four-straight board, any Queen beats him, but, he has the flush redraw. And you know he spikes the K of hearts on the river to crack me there too.
I just feel like I am not destined to win these bigger buyin tournaments, cursed or whatever. At least I've done well in the local cash games, but good lord I wanted to win the $60,000 for first at Foxwoods. :(
